December 8th, 2008

Lao Shifu and Dragons and Parents,

It gives me great pleasure to announce the presentation of the following noteworthy promotions at our December 8th, 2008 Sash Testing Event. Included below is some pictures provided by Dragon Arnold (father of Tai). This was a highly successful event that involved over 50 LCF Kung Fu students for testing and assistance, and was capped off by a wonderfully cooked Chinese style home-cooked celebration dinner hosted by Lawrence and Lucia (parents of Evan) and a slide show of the highlights of the young dragons training progression over the last several years!

John "Tenacious Crane" Tubbs - 3rd Higher Level Black Sash
Chris "Formidable Badger" Weeks - 2nd Higher Level Black Sash

Collin - Youth 1st Higher Level Black Sash
Alex - Youth 1st Higher Level Black Sash
David - Youth 1st Higher Level Black Sash
Evan - Youth 1st Higher Level Black Sash
Tai - Youth 1st Higher Level Black Sash

The Young Dragon Black Sash Testing included empty hand and weapons forms presentation, leadership from the front of junior students during their form demonstrations, reading of a prepared speech on three of the necessary attributes of a Black Sash in Lung Ch'uan Fa, as well as 5 board breaks utilizing multiple kicking techniques learned over the past 3-4 years, and sparring bouts against their fellow candidates.

Shih-Hsiung Tubbs and weeks demonstrated their expertise in self-defense techniques and board breaking, including a 5 board box break by Tubbs (his first ever), and a 2 board elbow break by Weeks!

In addition, Shih-Hsiung Tubbs and Shih-Hsiung Weeks led a successful three hour afternoon seminar on the next section of the LCF Dragon Form for the Black Sash recipients and other Brown Sash and Green Sash Participants. In turn, Dragons Tubbs, Weeks, and Shih-Hsiung Chris Rubnich (who trained on Friday evening) received advanced training on Buddha's Fist and other aspects of the LCF curriculum from Friday evening through early Sunday morning.

I would like to thank all of the parents for their perseverance and dedication to assisting and supporting their Young Dragons during the last few months of additional training and required participation in extra activities!

We look forward to our upcoming 4th Annual Student's Friends and Familes Demonstration on the 9th February, 2008 (venue to be determined)!

Yours in the Martial Art,

Doug Moffett,
Shih-Fu Lung Ch'uan Fa
